Nancy Pelosi hospitalized after sustaining an injury during an official engagement. She is reportedly receiving excellent treatment from medical professionals 

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi is hospitalized in Luxembourg over an injury sustained during a congressional delegation trip. The type of injury is still unclear. According to Pelosi’s spokesperson Ian Krager, she is “currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals.” “While traveling with a bipartisan Congressional delegation in Luxembourg to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation,” he continued. “She continues to work and regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” he added.

De'Vondre Campbell refused to play against Rams 49ers linebacker San Francisco 49ers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell left the sidelines during his team's season-crushing loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night, in an apparent refusal to play that earned scorn from teammates.

The veteran had been bumped from the starting lineup with the return of the previously injured Dre Greenlaw, but when Greenlaw needed to come out of the game in the third quarter Campbell declined to play, according to 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan.

“He said he didn’t want to play today,” Shanahan told reporters after the game.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Campbell would face any discipline or be cut from the team.

“We’ll figure out something, but I don’t know that right now,” Shanahan said.

The coach insisted that Thursday night's incident won’t be an ongoing distraction.

“People notice, but when someone says that, you move on,” he said. “You don’t deal with that anymore.”

Tight end George Kittle and cornerback Charvarius Ward, two of the team’s most respected players, vented their frustration with Campbell’s inaction.

"It's hard to win football games when someone doesn't want to play football," Kittle said. "I think that’s ignorant. And I think it’s just dumb. It’s just stupid, and it’s very immature. I just don’t see how you could do something like that to your team.”

Ward said Campbell should have never put on a uniform if he didn't want to play Thursday.

"That's some sucka s---, it definitely hurt the team," said Ward, playing in his third game since the death of his 1-year-old daughter. "He's probably going to get cut soon."

The Los Angeles Rams defeated San Francisco, 12-6, virtually eliminating the defending NFC-champion 49ers from playoff contention.

The 6-8 Niners have three games left and trail first-place Seattle (8-5) by 2 1/2 games. The loss to the Rams put San Francisco's playoff hopes at less than 1%.

A representative of the National Football League Players Association could not be immediately reached for comment on Friday.

The 49ers signed Campbell to a one-year deal in March as a placeholder for Greenlaw, who tore his left Achilles tendon during the Super Bowl.

Odell Beckham’s days as a Dolphin are over.

The Dolphins will place Beckham on waivers, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. He’ll be available for any team to claim on Monday, and if no team claims him he’ll be an unrestricted free agent after clearing waivers.

The report calls it a mutual agreement and says Beckham hopes to find more opportunities elsewhere. Realistically, given that he has looked like a shell of his former self and caught just nine passes in nine games this season, there probably won’t be a whole lot of teams looking to give him that opportunity, but it only takes one.

Beckham was the NFL’s offensive rookie of the year in 2014 and one of the best wide receivers in the NFL in his first three seasons with the Giants. But it’s been a long time since he has played at that level, and his skills have eroded as he’s moved from the Browns to the Rams to the Ravens and now to the Dolphins.

Beckham hasn’t been practicing this week for what the Dolphins described as personal reasons, but he’ll be ready next week — if any team wants him.
